OUR STORY

While the missionaries in our family were so away from home, our mother would make sure to send regular care packages with personalized gifts to raise their spirits and remind them how much they are loved.

While my youngest sister was on her mission in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2020, my mother asked me if I could make a Christmas tree ornament for her to celebrate my sisters service while she was away… so I designed and laser etched an ornament on acrylic at a local shop for the two of them and several other missionaries serving with her.

Soon after, a social media post of this ornament yielded dozens of emails from other missionary mothers requesting me to make ornaments for their missionaries too.

Now, while waiting on our next generation of missionaries to serve in our family, we decided to start making Christmas gifts for your missionary.

TIMELINE

2005

FIRST SIBLING TO SERVE

Following in our fathers example, our brother became the first to serve to serve a mission in Russia, dedicating his time to helping others and sharing his faith. Afterwards, all four of our younger sisters also chose to serve missions, continuing the family legacy of service.

Encouraged by our mother, sending handmade gifts to our siblings while they were away became a family tradition.

A CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

At the request of our mother, I designed and sent a Christmas ornament for my sister at a local lab with a laser cutter, as we were all missing her terribly that year.

Soon after, a social media post of this ornament yielded dozens of emails from other missionary mothers requesting me to make ornaments for their missionaries too. I quickly made them in time for everyone by Christmas Day.

THE CHRISTMAS MISSIONARY

After such a positive response to the Christmas ornaments for a few missions the previous year, I committed to making a unique ornament for every single Latter-day Saint Mission in service.

The process took three months of working for 12-16 hours a day, but we managed to complete all the designs and launch our website in time for the Christmas season.

NEW LASER CUTTER

After the success of the 2021 Christmas Season, I could finally afford to purchase my own industrial laser cutter (we had been using one at a local lab for years). This marked a significate improvement in our ability to make product and ship it out quickly.

But since I lived in a studio apartment, I slept beside the laser cutter and its exhaust system for the next 2 years.

MISSION WISHLIST

After getting married, we realized that I missed the joy that came with learning about a missions service area and making designs for our missionaries there. We really love creating gifts for missionaries, knowing that it makes them feel loved and supported during a time that can be so challenging.

With the love, support and help of my dear wife, we made the time to make unique product designs for every one of the Latter-day Saint Missions in the world and launched the Misson Wishlist.
