Product Description
The design is a simple silhouette of the 11 foot marble statue of Jesus Christ by Bertel Thorvaldsen named “Christus” is depicted on this ornament. Located in the Church of Our Lady (of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark) in Copenhagen, the statue displays Jesus shortly after the resurrection and became an iconic symbol in the Christian community after Thorvaldsens death. Images and replicas of the statue were adopted by the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 20th century to emphasize the centrality of Jesus Christ in its teachings.
Made out of a lightweight and very durable transparent acrylic, this ornament will not weigh your tree down and can definitely withstand being dropped by the little ones should they get too curious around the tree. The acrylic is cut into a 3 inch circle and then laser etched with the artistic depiction.
